#28 - Strange Brew - Edited by P.N. Elrod

I believe I've commented on short story compilations before.  Usually not fond of them, for a myriad of reasons.  Well...I do have to say that I rather enjoyed every story in this book.  Picked it up because there was a story from the Sookieverse, not a Sookie story though.  Wound up throughly enjoying the book and I think I may attack Patricia Briggs next.

Life is crazy.  Not enough time to get everything done.  Tomorrow I work a half day and then take the boys to see the Wiggles.  Saturday and Sunday I will be in Farmington for my cousin's Bat Mitzvah.  Monday the boys and I leave on the cruise.  There is no time.  I'm not ready.

I forgot you were going on the cruise. Will your cell phone have service? Will you be checking email? How do we tell you the baby is here?!

Yes, it is all about me.

I was actually thinking the same thing. Phone and Text should work. We won't be at sea and out of touch for very long anyway. Monday we leave NY around 4 or 5. Tuesday is a Day at Sea. Wednesday port in St. John, N.B. and Thursday is Halifax, N.S. Friday Day at Sea and Saturday morning back in NY. Short cruise. And it is all about you. I need to know when you have that baby!!!!!

Even though it is a book of short stories I recommend Many Bloody Returns. The stories are shorter than Mean Streets, so you don't really get sucked into the world (sucked. vampires. HA! I made a funny.) before it's over. I think there was only one story in the lot of them that I was meh about, the rest I really liked.
The book: basically authors who have written a vampire in their stories somewhere were told "Think Vampires... think birthdays.... GO!"
