Not quite as satisfying as the other Alera books. There is no real resolution to any of the problems presented. It was kind of like how Back to the Future 2 really couldn't stand alone as a movie but it just stopped and needed BttF 3. It was still good and I didn't want to put it down, but it reads less like a stand alone story than the other Alera books.
