Finished Season 1 of Heroes.  I enjoyed it, but I am confused.  And now I have to wait till probably late this year or early next year to buy Season 2 on DVD and hope that they clear it up for me.

Need to find something else to watch after we get back from the cruise.

Because I don't get why Nathan had to fly away with Peter. Peter could have flown. He has that ability through Nathan. Was it supposed to be the brotherly love/ support thing? It just didn't make sense to me.

Not a spoiler, I actually guessed this when I saw the season finale there.
Peter had to use all his concentration to contain the radiation-power. Flying takes concentration, so he couldn't fly and contain the radiation.

That was one of my theories, but I don't remember any explanation of that given and I was hoping that there would be something in Season 2 to clarify.

not really, but it's i think widely assumed by fans. May have even been something the creators said to us too.

That was my theory at that point. I based this on the idea that those with power "Multiples" (Peter and Sylar) don't seem very good as using multiple powers at once.

You don't see Peter flying around tossing lightning. Or Sylar ripping open hydrants and throwing ice shards at people, etc...

But then we've yet to see either of the 2 bog boys really cut loose.

But we've seen Peter fly invisible, didn't we? Am I remembering incorrectly? From the roof with Christopher Eccleston?

Have we? Could be some of the more passive powers are easier to use. Going invisible seems a lot easier than absorbing a double dose of Radiation power (remember, Peter gets it from Ted Sprauge and then from Sylar again which caused the overload.)

That's why I want it spelled out. I am still left with this feeling that it was just a plot device to show us that Nathan fully chose Good rather than Evil. I'll reconcile it. But it will still irritate my Black and White Nature.

Controlling going nuclear (nucular?) is a lot more difficult. I recall him saying at some point that he can't do anything else. maybe it was in season 2 flashbacks? Anyway.
Compare it to this: You can walk and chew bubblegum at the same time, but playing hopscotch and trying to read Tolstoy at the same time is a LOT more difficult.
